DLC: Sprit City: Lofi Sessions - All Aboard! - (27th August 2025)
I don't usually buy DLC for games any more. However, after I began using this productivity tool a lot more I knew I had to get this.
I heard that the DLC was lacking in content, more specifically, clothing / avatar customisation, but as I much prefer to customise the area the avatar stays in, I was glad to have a different area to chill in.
Overall, other than the lack of customisation, I don't see a reason why you shouldn't pick this one up.
Although, I did buy this for the new area, I also bought it to support the devs. You can definitely tell this is a passion project. And it shows with all the updates this 'game' is getting :D
Mirage Feathers - (24th August 2025)
This has to be one of the greatest games I've played this year...
I bought it after seeing some of the avatars and all that in the points shop and wondered what kind of game it would be. Truth be told I wasn't expecting it to be a game which is heavily inspired by the arcade game: Afterburner.
I had never played that game, but if this game is anything to go by, that game can't be that bad.
Everything about this game is brilliant, from the gameplay to the art of the game, which is good (I played it with the streamer friendly option..) And then there is also the music, which has to be some of the best music I've heard from a videogame, In fact, I'm listening to it whilst writing this review.
Overall, everything about this game is great and I strongly recommend you give it a go! especially if you like the score chasing aspect of arcade games, you can see a lot of value out of this game :D
The Coffin of Andy and Leyley - (9th August 2025)
Where to begin with this game...
Ok, first of all, this game is kind of messed up. That part is almost immediately noticeable when reading the description of the game.
So, I bought this on a whim after seeing a few videos on it and with one of the main features being one I won't go into detail with I wasn't expecting to play it for long.
But I'm now 10 hours in and have loved everything about this game, from the messed up characters, the writing is brilliant and the music ties it all together.
If you know or have heard of this game through what everyone says its about, you simply have to give it a go, because it's such a good game! and goes beyond this theme (it's not really the main focus as everyone says it is!)
As of writing this review, there are 3 chapters. Chapter 1 and 2 take 2 hours each and chapter 3 takes longer to complete (possibly as it has a higher focus on puzzles). However, I believe this is part 1 of 2 (although I am unsure of this). With part 2 of chapter 3 and chapter 4 being developed - the game is in early access after all :)
Also it kind of inspired me to continue work with my RPG Maker project, so that was good :D
Root Letter (14th July 2025)
As much as I don't want to write a negative review for any of the games I play, there is just something about the story of this game which doesn't really make much sense.
I've tried to play as much of it as possible so far (currently up to chapter 7), but at the minute, I just don't really enjoy playing it.
In terms of the game, during the investigation parts of the story, it made me think of the Phoenix Wright games, but when this part of the game plays, I feel it's a bit out of place sometimes.
Some of the dialogue doesn't seem very natural either - as in it doesn't really seem like it is being spoken by a human.
As this review contains spoilers - check my steam page for the actual review.
Spirit City: Lofi Sessions (29th June 2025)
I got this as part of a humble bundle and wasn't really expecting much, but I was intrigued by the concept of a game like this. So I decided to install it and give it a go.
It's similar to the Lofi videos you can find - so it's kind of more of an idle 'game', which I'm not a huge fan of, but having an OC alongside you when doing revision or some other activity can be quite cool.
It's also a creature collector as well - and you also don't need the DLC to unlock all the achievements (although I think it takes like 200 hours, maybe one day I'll reach that).
The only gripe I have with the game is that it seems quite demanding on a laptop (whether it's the one I'm using or something...) The fan doesn't seem to be a fan of it. Although a recent update has added some more graphical settings and that seems to stop the fan. Although 10fps when idle isn't ideal... but it is what it is :)
Dear Esther: Landmark Edition (3 June 2025)
This is probably one of the first popular walking simulators to be made, and even though the story may seem a little confusing at first, it all pieces together in the end.
Even if you don't play it for the story, play it for the great landscapes which serve as great screenshot opportunities.
Alba: A Wildlife Adventure (3 June 2025)If you are somewhat of a nature enthusiast, then this is a must play - and even if you aren't, you should give it a go regardless.
This is because even with it's low poly art - style, it still manages to capture the iconic features of a variety of animals. There are around 80 or so creatures to find around the island.
It's a relatively short adventure about saving an island and it's wildlife from the horrors of industrialisation by getting the population of the island to sign your petition.
Also, not to mention each copy of the game sold comes with a tree planted, which is pretty cool :D
Draw Puzzle (3 June 2025)
I decided to give this game a go on the basis that I kind of got into these kinds of puzzle games on the switch via another series. It was also quite cheap, so I figured I wouldn't have to play it a long time to get my moneys worth, but here I am now with over 10 hours, so it was definitely worth the price of less than £5
I usually tend to play this game when I'm watching a DVD or something, just to give myself something to do.
Overall, a good puzzle game - the rules are relatively simple, so it doesn't take that long to master.her tears were my light (16 May 2025)
A short visual novel which I found as I was about to buy BAD END THEATER, which is made by the same developer, and I'm glad I did.
It only takes about 30 minutes to complete but manages to convey a great love story in that time.
BAD END THEATER (21 April 2025)
In this visual novel, there are four characters each with multiple bad ends lying ahead.
If you're looking for a good and relatively short visual novel, give this one a try - it has to be one of the best visual novels I've played (the boss battle was quite a surprise though).
CHUCHEL (21 April 2025)
The premise of the game may seem confusing at first, especially as you are playing as an orange fuzzball chasing a cherry.
It's a relatively simple point and click adventure which has you, as Chuchel, going through a strange land filled with peculiar creatures on your hunt to retrieve a cherry.
(It may sound confusing when written in words, but it kind of makes sense when you're playing it)
Project Kat: Paper Lily Prologue (21 April 2025)
A small horror / puzzle game which acts as a prologue to Paper Lily - Chapter 1 and even though it's relatively short to complete, it's still got quite an engaging story to play through.
(I believe there are two endings to this game, I might go back and try to complete the one I haven't achieved at some point)
Minami Lane (8th February 2025)A simple management game which allows you to assume the role of a street planner, you need to make the residents of the streets happy (or fulfil other conditions) in order to pass missions (of which there are 5 in total). To conclude, It doesn't take all too long to complete. Also (it might be worth mentioning), there are cats in this game, which appear as a result of having greater attractiveness in your street.
Driver: San Francisco (30 January 2025)
Sometimes referred to as one of the better racing games, Driver: San Fransisco introduces an intresting gimmick of 'shifting' between vehicles, or in this case, 'shifting' between drivers which means you can drive pretty much anything from the car to the fire engine. The story is the main reason as to why this game gets so much praise and after playing it for myself, I can see why. It is much better than what other racing games are doing nowadays (seemingly not much), there are a lot of cutscenes. In fact, it's sort of like you are playing a series on TV rather than a videogame, everytime you start up the game, whilst progressing through the story, you will be greeted to a 'previously on' cutscene explaining where you are up to.
All in all, a great game, if you are a fan of racing games, you should definitely give this one a go!
