There may have been a point in time where Evie was a nicer person... before she actually changed for the better.

When Evie joined Hazelwood School, she gained notority for being a bully... probably not the reputation you want to have... Despite this, she made friends with Maisie and Phoebe, who were somewhat fans of misbehaving too.

There was fresh blood when a new girl joined the school, Iris only had one eye, so Evie decided that that would be who she tormented next.

This went on for a few months before, Iris eventually grew sick of it and attempted to change it. Evie was partially determined to put an end to this, but ultimately couldn't really be bothered. Although she did pose as an obstacle at some points.

After waking up one night, Phoebe found that Evie was quite ill. Almost bed bound, which was much different than her usual evil self. As much as she wanted to prevent it, Iris did eventually find out. It annoyed her, but upon hearing that she might try to sort it out, she had to go along with it. not that she could contribute much, other than a few nasty words.

Although, Iris must have been able to do something as she found that the illness had completely elluded her after her enemy returned. After this small incident, she did gain a newfound respect for Iris... who knows if it will actually last though.
